Classroom Management

We have a system in place to help us monitor our behavior.  Students will begin each day in the “Ready to Learn” zone.  If a student goes above and beyond to be helpful he/she can move up to “Great Choice”. At the end of the day if he/she is still at “Great Choice” he/she earns a Leopard Loot.

The first time I see them making a not so smart or unsafe choice, they will be given a verbal warning.  Each time after that he/she will move his/her clip on the chart.   First offense is a “Warning Zone” and the student will miss 5 minutes of recess.  If the students show improved behavior he/she can move name back to “Ready to Learn”.  Second offense is “Yellow Light”, they will miss 10 minutes of recess.  Third offense is “Red Light” and the student will be asked to visit the principal's office.  If the child has to move their name to yellow or red I will send a behavior note home for the parents and child to sign and return the next day.

Every 2 weeks we will visit the “Loot Store” where the students will be able to buy items from the store.

Students can also be “caught being good” during the day which will earn them Skittles from the teacher.
